I became a teacher to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives during a critical stage of growth. Third grade is a year when confidence and independence begin to flourish, and I love helping students discover their abilities. Creating a supportive, engaging classroom where students feel valued and excited to learn motivates me daily. Teaching allows me to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help students believe in themselves.

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a struggling student gain confidence in reading. At the start of the year, they avoided participating and doubted their abilities. Through encouragement, small goals, and consistent support, they began volunteering to read aloud and celebrating their progress. Seeing their confidence grow reminded me that teaching is not just about academics, but helping students believe in themselves.

If awarded $25,000, I would invest in my classroom by adding engaging learning resources, flexible seating, and books that inspire a love of reading. I would also use part of it to create lasting memories with my family by taking them to Disney, celebrating the importance of balance, joy, and quality time together while continuing to give my best to my students each day.
