Tell us why you became a teacher

I was in Law enforcement for awhile as a SRO, and noticed where I live that I could make more of an impact as a teacher, coach and mentor in South West Texas. We have a big influx of Mexican culture and not a lot of growth outside of Texas. So I bring my experiences from the Midwest, East Coast to my teaching by expanding my student's mindset and learning with my life exposures. Giving them the tools to take chances and live with no regrets.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The A-Ha moments are extraordinary when it happens. Being a teacher, coach and sideline trainer gave me the pleasure to show student athletes how my anatomy physiology class is experienced with know of getting hurt, recouping, and post op. My students had shoulder surgery and got stem cells put into their shoulder. And when it was a post op consult appt, they found out it was from a baby' umbilical cord. They were so amazed by this and learning previously about it that they called ME. A-Ha!

What would you do with the $25,000?

Actually, put toward supplies and help school system repair our bus. We have 2 busses and they break down all the time. Our school system is very poor and funding is very short, so supplies for my classes and help repair our busses so we dont break down on the way to completions anymore.
