Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher for the fame and fortune. As a bonus, I also enjoy reading and discussing literature. And I had no idea what to do with a literature degree.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have taught senior English for most of my career and one year I had FIVE Gates Millennium Scholars. That was a lot of proofread essays and letters of recommendation. I was also a two-time Yale teaching fellow.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would travel to Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Travel has made me a much better literature teacher, and since I will be teaching Dual Credit British literature in August, I can get inspired in the places the poems were written.
