Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves to feel seen, safe, and capable. School can shape how children see themselves, and I want my classroom to be a place where curiosity is encouraged, mistakes are part of growth, and every student knows they matter. Teaching allows me to combine my love for learning with my heart for nurturing and guiding young lives.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was watching a student who once doubted themselves finally believe they could succeed. After weeks of encouragement, small group support, and celebrating tiny wins, they read aloud confidently in front of the class for the first time. The smile on their face reminded me that teaching isn’t just about academics—it’s about building confidence, safety, and belief in who they are becoming.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000, I would use it to create opportunity. I would invest part of it so it can grow over time, use some to pay down debt and build long-term security, and set aside funding to launch a small community initiative supporting foster and at-risk children. I would also dedicate a portion to enhancing my classroom with meaningful resources and save a little to create a memory with the people I love.
