Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to be the person I needed when I was growing up. I want every student to feel seen, supported, and believed in. Too often, students underestimate themselves, and I love helping them realize their potential. Watching their confidence grow and seeing them begin to believe in themselves is what makes this job so meaningful to me.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

It’s hard to choose just one memorable moment because teaching is made up of so many small ones. The moments that stand out most are when students say things like, “Now I finally get it,” or “That lesson actually made sense.” Those are the times I’m reminded why I became a teacher. Seeing that understanding and confidence click is what makes it all worth it.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the money to create more opportunities for my students to learn, grow, and feel successful. I would expand my classroom library, provide supplies for hands-on and engaging lessons, and support programs that help build confidence and leadership. My goal would be to give my students the resources and experiences they need to truly see their potential and believe in themselves.
