I love teaching because I get to help students grow in confidence, curiosity, and belief in themselves every single day.

I became a teacher because I wanted to work with children and make a meaningful difference in my community. Teaching allows me to help students grow in confidence, curiosity, and character while showing them they are capable of great things. Being part of their journey and helping shape their future is both a privilege and a purpose I carry with me every day.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was looping with a group of students from fourth grade to fifth grade. Walking alongside them for two years allowed me to build deep relationships and watch their growth in a special way. That class left a lasting mark on my heart and taught me so much about empathy, community, and the importance of making school feel like family.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were honored to receive the $25,000 award, I would use part of it to improve my classroom by adding flexible seating, updated materials, and engaging resources that help my students feel excited about learning. The remainder would help my family by paying down debt. Like many educators, I give so much of myself to my students, and this support would ease a financial burden and allow me to continue focusing fully on serving my students and community.
