I became a teacher because of my personal school experience. As a student I experienced great teachers and teachers that weren't so great. I decided that I wanted to be the teacher that is a positive influence to students and that makes learning exciting. I know I make a difference every day when my students step into my classroom and that is why I teach.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI think my most memorable teaching experience happened during my 6th year of teaching. I had started a new teaching position as a 3rd/4th teacher. My principal pulled me to the side on an early spring day and told me she had a parent contact her in tears that day because her student actually wanted to go to school and that they were enjoying school. They felt heard and that she was so thankful that her students teacher actually took the time to listen and respond in a meaningful way to them.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to continue my education as a teacher, buy some supplies for students and take a trip with my family to Ireland.
