Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because of the educators who inspired me to love learning and believe in my own potential. They made learning meaningful, challenged me to think deeply, and modeled leadership through patience, curiosity, and care. Their classrooms were places where questions mattered and growth was celebrated. I teach to create that same environment for my students and to help them see themselves as capable learners and future leaders

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Two of my most memorable teaching experiences were taking students to Atlanta to tour the Supreme Court and Capitol, where learning came to life beyond the classroom, and having former students return to visit me years later. Those moments affirmed that education creates lasting connections and that the impact of a teacher extends far beyond a single school year.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would take a meaningful vacation with my family to rest, reconnect, and make lasting memories. I would also invest in my school community by planning a fun, interactive learning event for families, creating opportunities for engagement, curiosity, and shared experiences that strengthen the connection between home and school.
