Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I love watching kids learn new things, helping people, and watching them have new experiences. I also love connecting textbook material to real world problems, experiments and experiences. Sharing what I love with others makes me happy.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was at the Alaska Sealife Center. During this time I was able to teach people of all ages about conservation, wildlife, rehabilitation, and how to love the environment and the creatures in it. This allowed me to teach people from all around the world. Being able to connect my love of teaching and my love of animals and the environment was amazing. I love bringing my love and passion into my current middle school classes.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000 I would first buy a new camera which would allow me to take wildlife photos and keep better track of the animals around our school campus. We use these photos alot within my middle school classroom and science club. I would then put some of the money towards our science club to complete our bottle cap mural and other activities. Whatever money is left would help me to put money towards a down payment on a house or car.
