Learn MoreI became a teacher because I grew up with learning disabilities connected to wearing hearing aids, and I know how challenging school can feel. One teacher truly supported me, believed in me, and helped me succeed. That experience changed my life. I wanted to become that person for other children - to support, encourage, and advocate for students who need someone in their corner.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a student who struggled with confidence begin to believe in themselves. They rarely participated and doubted their abilities. With encouragement and support, they started raising their hand and sharing their work proudly. Seeing their growth and confidence bloom reminded me why I teach, to help students realize their potential and know they are capable of success.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I win, I would invest a portion into my classroom by creating more hands-on learning experiences, updating supplies, and bringing in engaging resources for my students. I also would save and invest wisely for my future. Most importantly, I would use it in ways that create lasting impact, both personally and professionally.
