I love teaching because I get to be a part of so many wonderful children’s lives. I get to watch and help students grow each and everyday.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe in the power of learning to change lives. I still remember the educators who saw potential in me, sparked my curiosity, and made learning feel meaningful. Their impact stayed with me, and I knew I wanted to do the same for others. Teaching allows me to guide students as they discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop their own genuine love of learning that lasts far beyond the classroom.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences has been receiving emails from my former 4th graders after they’ve moved on to middle school. Hearing that they’re thriving, making honor roll, and still thinking of our classroom means everything to me. It reminds me that the relationships we build truly matter. Knowing I played even a small role in their continued success is the greatest reward of being a teacher.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put money away for my daughter’s education, and take my mom and daughter on a trip to Germany. We have been wanting to visit since my oma passed away as a tribute to her memory. As a single parent anything would be a help.
