Tell us why you became a teacher

My love for teaching began at a young age when I watched my grandmother struggle to read because she lacked access to education in her country. As a child, I came home eager to teach her what I learned in school. My grandmother even let me write lessons on our basement wall and kept them for years as proof of my dream. These experiences shaped my passion for empowering students through education.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was watching a student who once struggled gain confidence and a love for learning. At the end of the year, she cried as she shared how proud she was of everything she had learned. In that moment, I realized the true impact of teaching and not just academic growth, but helping students believe in themselves and their potential.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded $25,000, I would invest in high-quality classroom resources, updated technology, and hands-on learning materials to support diverse learners. I would also use part of the funds to continue my education and professional growth. By strengthening both my classroom and my skills, I can better support my students’ success.
