When the light bulb lights up and the eyes twinkle, I know my students are comprehending; my heart skips beats. There’s no better feeling.

I became a teacher because I believe the knowledge and skills I acquired as a professional for three decades could benefit students and change the trajectory of future generations. Many of my students believe their futures are limited by their circumstances. I want them to see their circumstances and futures can change.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience is when students that other teachers found difficult to teach, excelled in my class. One student in particular found his niche. Three years later in my classes, he was presented the opportunity for an internship that became a full time position before he graduated high school. He is now in the military, going to college for cybersecurity and employed at the same company part time. Other classmates have changed their futures too.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I had $25000, I would set up scholarships for first generation college students. I would help make dreams become reality.
