I love teaching! I enjoy seeing the students when they finally begin reading independently or solve that math problem. It means they got it!

Learn MoreI became a teacher because I loved my first and second grade teacher so much! She made me enjoy learning and I wanted to be like her. She is my inspiration for how I teach in many ways!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable was when I was teaching Kindergaten. I was given a child that every day lined up with a different class, or continued playing when everyone else went to line up after the bell, or stayed in her seat, working away while we exited class on our way to lunch. It turned out she was deaf. By the end of the school year her parents agreed to have her tested. My suspicions were confirmed and the next year she went to a special school to learn with a teacher just like her.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would take my class on more field trips. We are only funded for one trip a year. It’s important to get out and visit the things we study in class. I would also like to buy more art supplies for special projects in class.
