Rosario Moore

I love being a teacher because I build confidence, spark curiosity, and remind children they can change their own story.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education transforms lives from the inside out. As an author and coach, I’ve seen how self-belief shapes destiny, and the classroom is where that belief begins. I teach to help students discover their voice, strengthen their confidence, and realize they are capable of more than they imagine. Teaching is not just my profession, it’s my calling to shape hearts and minds with purpose.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a student who struggled with confidence stand up and proudly lead their own learning. Seeing that shift, from doubt to belief — reminded me why I teach. It’s not just about academics; it’s about helping children recognize their value, find their voice, and realize they are capable of more than they ever imagined.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were awarded the $25,000, I would invest it directly into expanding literacy and social-emotional learning through my classroom and my children’s book series, The Wholks. I would develop bilingual resources, interactive reading kits, and student-led projects that build confidence, imagination, and critical thinking. My goal is to continue growing a learning environment where children not only read, but believe in themselves.
