Tell us why you became a teacher

I wanted to create a space where students feel seen, valued, and. inspired.I wanted to help students discover their passion, build confidence, and find their voice. Teaching allows me to shape not just academic growth but the kind of growth that helps students believe in themselves. Teaching isn't just something I do- it's a part of who I am.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was with a student who struggled academically and often felt invisible. Little by little, through conversations, extra support, and celebrating small wins, they began to trust themselves. One day, they came in excited because they had researched a science topic on their own, eager to teach me something new. That moment watching a student go from doubting their abilities to becoming a curious, confident learner will be with me forever.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would create even more opportunities for students to fall in love with learning. I would build enrichment experiences; workshops, field trips, and projects; that help students explore their interest more deeply .I would use the funds to make sure every student, regardless of background, has access to the kind of engaging, exciting. language that helps them feel capable and inspired. This prize would allow me to pour even more into the next generation of students.
