Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher without realizing it at first. In nursing, I learned that teaching is a big part of caring for others. We teach patients about their health and help families understand care. I decided to share my knowledge because I enjoy helping others learn and feel more confident. Seeing someone understand and grow is very rewarding, and it made me appreciate the role of teaching in my career.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was at Loara High School. The students stayed in contact, many of my students continue and grew in the healthcare field. It makes me proud to see them become nurses, surgeons, and nurse practitioners. Knowing I played a small part in their journey and success is truly rewarding and reminds me why teaching is so important.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to support my education while I am in school. It would help cover some of my tuition and reduce financial stress so I can focus on my studies. I would also use part of it for transportation, making it easier to attend classes and clinicals. This support would allow me to stay on track, complete my program, and continue working toward my goal in healthcare.
