Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I deeply understand the lasting influence educators have on our lives. Long after graduation, we may forget specific lessons, assignments, or test scores, but we never forget our favorite teachers. We remember how they made us feel, how they encouraged us, and how they believed in us when we did not fully believe in ourselves. Besides our families, teachers often have the greatest influence on who we become.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was during parent-teacher conferences. Parents shared that their children who once disliked history now talk about it at home with excitement and curiosity. Hearing that students who never connected with the subject now love it because of the energy, relevance, and passion I bring to my classroom reminded me why I teach. Knowing I helped change their perspective on learning was incredibly rewarding and reaffirmed my purpose as an educator.
