Tell us why you became a teacher

I’ve always loved learning, but what truly motivated me was the opportunity to help others discover their own strengths. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a student grasp a new concept, gain confidence, or realize their potential. I want my classroom to be a place where students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and grow both academically and personally.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was when a struggling student who lacked confidence finally volunteered an answer during class discussion and it showed real understanding. Later, they told me, “I didn’t think I could do this before.” That shift in belief meant more than any grade. It reminded me that teaching is about building confidence as much as content knowledge.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would invest in updated classroom technology, high-interest books, and hands-on learning materials to increase engagement and access. I would also fund intervention resources for struggling students and enrichment opportunities like project-based learning and guest speakers. A portion would support professional development to ensure long-term impact on student achievement.
