Robyn Johnson

I became a teacher because I believe education changes trajectories. As an 8th grade English teacher, I help students build literacy, confidence, and critical thinking during a pivotal year. As a high school Student Council advisor, I guide students in servant leadership and responsibility. I wanted a career where I could influence both minds and character, creating spaces where students feel safe, challenged, and empowered to lead their own futures.

Each spring, graduating seniors choose one educator who impacted them most and dedicate a letter to that person. Thirteen of my students have chosen me. In those letters, they pour out their hearts, sharing how our classroom shaped their confidence, voice, and belief in themselves. Watching them walk across the stage and knowing I was part of their journey brings me to tears and reaffirms I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

I would use the $25,000 to pay off my student loans. Eliminating that debt would provide financial stability and peace of mind, allowing me to fully invest in my students and family without the weight of long-term financial strain. Teachers give endlessly to their classrooms and communities; removing this burden would allow me to continue serving with focus, gratitude, and renewed energy for the profession I love.
