I became a teacher because I felt like I could make a positive difference in the lives of students. The biggest thrill for me is knowing that a student found their voice on stage and found confidence because of something I had the opportunity to share with them.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI directed a play with my current students one time, and two of my former students who were from a different school tracked me down and came to see the play. They had met and fallen in love because they had been together in my class and were about to get married. Them getting to tell me that was a huge impact on me.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would donate a portion of it to my school, specifically my theatre department so that we can get some much needed microphones and a lighting system for our stage. I will also use a portion to pay my debts as well as make some repairs on my house.
