My journey started 30 years ago after my last child was born. After time at home I realized that she needed some time with other children and I needed a job. Applied at a childcare facility in my neighborhood and was hired as an infant teacher. I loved the job so much that I expanded to the asst director, driving the bus, being the nurse and all around everyone for all classrooms. I love the infant room the most. It's my calm place. Even when days are hectic in the room.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experience was when in the infant room 2 years ago we had a little boy come in our room with a curved back. Dad and mom were doing all they could along with taking care of their other 2 children. We started right away with helping him sit up straight with prop ups and working with him everyday. The parents were thrilled with the success we had. He was walking straight like he should when he went to his new room.
What would you do with the $25,000?I'm 67 years old and will be ready to retire when I'm 70 and that money would help me get their. I will be traveling and spending some much needed time with my 4 grandchildren. I've enjoyed my time in the workplace but it's time for this body to slow down and enjoy life.
