Learn MoreThe main reason why I became a teacher was because of my parents who immigrated to the United States at a very young age and only had kindergarten education. I recall when I was younger seeing how my parents struggled to help my sister and I to do our homework or study for exams, and go to parent teacher conferences because it was all in English and they didn’t understand much of the language. So my goal was to become a bilingual teacher to better support our Spanish speaking community.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience might be when I was teaching one of my newcomer students who had no experience of attending school. He had never been to school in his home country. Until his family and him immigrated to the United States. He had no academic or social skills. But the most gratifying experience was to see how he left my classroom reading, writing, etc. he exceeded all expectations for a Prek student.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I would win the $25,000 I will try to pay some of my debt and get educational materials for my classroom to better support my scholar’s academically.
