I love teaching science because I can see the students wonder and explore their curiosity about the world. It’s a magical sight.

I became a teacher because I had very few teachers that taught in a way I fully understood. I spent my time at home going over everything again to have it stick.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experience was when I was telling a student I like to dip chocolate chip cookies in milk and my Hispanic student who never spoke turned around and said “I too” since then the student has blossomed and is doing so well in school and is a social butterfly.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I would win I would save a good chunk because I’d like to feel secure if my car broke down. I also would fund my science experiments next year since my school has informed me they are not buying all the manipulatives for science again, like the soil and sand and other one time use supplies.
