Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I was inspired by my many amazing teachers I had during my education. I thought it would be a good way of giving back and showing my appreciation for all they did for me. It definitely isn’t easy and won’t make me rich, but I am rich with love from each and every student I’ve been fortunate to call mine.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

We have a fundraiser each spring titled slime your teacher. Two years ago I had a class whose parents either absolutely adored me (I think!) and they and made sure my name was one of the top 10 earners to be able to be slimed. While it was an honor to have that much money donated for me, it was even more fun to be able to be slimed and play with the students at the same time. The love and gratitude felt from recently students and families have definitely made my years memorable.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The money would most likely be put towards my son’s college savings.
