Teaching gives the opportunity to provide a home away from home for students. The ability to encourage learning and independence is key!

I became a teacher because I believe in the power of a big smile and a welcoming classroom. Inviting students to reach their full potential in a way that is both student-led and teacher-encouraged is how we build resilient learners and change the world!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceTeaching one of my students who was non-verbal, with sensory issues and autism to use visuals in order to speak. After working with her for two years, she began to talk and communicate with words. I saw her and her dad ten years later and we had a full conversation, and it was the most memorable, life changing experiences I will ever face. And yes, I bawled like a baby.
What would you do with the $25,000?Most of the money would be dedicated towards building a classroom that I believe is best and most suitable for my students. Having multiple platforms and surfaces to work, the right materials and seating necessary, and any type of tools that boosts learning. Money would also be donated to the school itself, and finding resources that can reach all students!
