Becoming a teacher means guiding students as they build the foundations of reading, math, science, and social studies while also developing strong social skills. Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences in my dual language classroom is watching students grasp new concepts in their second language. It is exciting to see their confidence grow as they make meaning across languages. When teaching the literacy concept of cause and effect, students use cognates to connect ideas they already know in their first language to English. Seeing them recognize these similarities and apply their understanding shows how powerful language connections can be in learning.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won the $25,000, I would invest part of it in classroom organization materials to create a more effective and welcoming learning environment for my students. I would also plan a few out-of-state field trips to a science museum where students could experience hands-on activities. These opportunities would spark curiosity, deepen their understanding of science, and give them meaningful experiences beyond the classroom creating memories that inspire a lifelong love of learning
