I love teaching because I get to support, encourage, and help kids grow into confident learners every single day
Thank you for supporting Paris TeBrink in this year's competition. Your donations and participation will benefit The Planetary Society in their mission to advance space exploration, inspire discovery, and empower the next generation of innovators.
I became a teacher because I have always loved helping students learn and grow. Supporting them as they overcome challenges and gain confidence is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy finding different ways to explain ideas and seeing the moment when understanding clicks. Teaching allows me to make a positive impact not only on students’ academic success but also on their personal development and future.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was working with a student who lacked confidence in math. At the start of the year, she doubted her abilities and often felt discouraged. With consistent support, encouragement, and practice, her confidence grew alongside her skills. By the end of the year, she was thriving. She later came back to tell me she is now excelling in upper-level math, which meant the world to me.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won $25,000 through America’s Favorite Teacher, I would invest it directly into creating more opportunities for my students. I would enhance classroom resources, provide engaging hands-on learning experiences, and support students who need additional academic assistance. My goal would be to remove barriers to learning and ensure every student feels confident, supported, and inspired to succeed.
