My mother taught children in our home as I was growing up. Her joy of teaching and their joy of learning were contagious. One day, almost 20 years ago, I decided teaching was my ministry in life. Watching my students grow and mature is my reward. This beats a paycheck any day!  I don't feel like I am going to "work", everyday. That is a blessing!

It would have to be realizing that teaching is simply leading by example. Watching my children learn how to care for one another and give of themselves. We are a family for a year. I hope they carry on what they learned with me. They each have a part of my heart. One student in my class spends each night making cards for her classmates. Oh the joy when they see her each day! Her parents and I are a team and she is remarkably kind! Love is what I teach. 

This extra money would help so much with my husband and I and our future. I am close to retirement age, and I hope and pray my body and mind are able to teach for many more years. To be able to retire and work less hours, and still teach would be my dream come true!
