When I was a sophomore in high school, my history teacher had a profound impact on me. She showed me that students could genuinely enjoy learning and feel excited to be in the classroom. Her passion, energy, and belief in us changed the way I saw education. In that moment, I realized I wanted to create that same experience for others, to build a classroom where learning feels meaningful, engaging, and fun, and where students feel inspired every single day.

Whenever I have a student who struggles with reading or writing, I make it a point to encourage them and show that I believe in them, especially when they don’t believe in themselves. At the end of this past semester, after final grades were entered, my favorite moment was telling one student they had passed my class. Watching their face light up with relief, pride, and joy was unforgettable. That moment reminded me exactly why I chose to become a teacher.

As I currently teach Student Council and WEB, I would use the funds to expand leadership opportunities and help students truly grow as confident, capable leaders. I am also continuing my education, and this support would help me further my professional goals. At the same time, family is incredibly important to me, and I would use part of the money to support and give back to the people who have always supported and helped me.
