Tell us why you became a teacher

I have always loved school and grew up in an education family (both parents, my uncle, & my grandmothers)! My respect for teachers and the love they have for their students made my passion flourish as I grew up.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had a student who needed consistent support entering and staying in the classroom. He had never been in school before, & was understandably overwhelmed. Due to patience, support from colleagues, and maintaining a safe environment, he now is excited to come to school & is making wonderful progress academically & behaviorally.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest in flexible seating to best fit the needs of my students, as well as hands-on supplemental games/materials to promote fine motor skills, social-emotional learning, & phonics.
