I love teaching first graders because every small success builds confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

I became a teacher because I believe education can change lives and open doors for children. I want to help students build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop a love of learning. Teaching allows me to support every child’s growth while creating a safe, positive classroom where students feel valued and capable of success.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a student have an “aha” moment while learning to read. After weeks of practice, he finally blended the sounds together and read a sentence on his own. His eyes lit up and he proudly said, “I can read!” That moment reminded me why teaching matters; helping students gain confidence and realize what they are capable of achieving.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I received the $25,000, I would use part of it to take a meaningful trip for myself to relax and recharge. I would also invest in my classroom by purchasing new books, hands-on learning materials, technology, and flexible seating to create an engaging environment where my students can learn and grow.
