I became a teacher, because I saw there was a place in the public school system where my experience as a child of immigrants who speaks multiple languages could help in the success of our students. Representing a minority group in our public school system was very important for me as well.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe most memorable teaching experience is when my students prove to themselves that they can do hard things. When they realize that if they put their mind into it they are capable of achieving even what they thought wasn't possible.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would create different opportunities for my students, who tend to not attend field trips due to the cost of the field trip, to visit places that otherwise wouldn't be able to go. I would also pay some of my loans that I still have pending.
