Tell us why you became a teacher

Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher and have always loved learning. I dreamed of supporting students the way my teachers supported me. Going into college I tried the medicine route and realized my passion was still in teaching. I decided to quit listening to the "You'll never make money" and "Teaching isn't a real job" comments and follow my dreams of inspiring kids to reach their dreams and grow as people.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment was walking across the graduation stage wearing a dress signed by every student I taught. This wasn't just a garment; it was a tangible map of the lives I touched. Their cheers from the stands transformed a personal milestone into a shared celebration of our bond. It serves as a permanent reminder that teaching is more than delivering content—it’s about building a community of mutual respect that follows you long after the final bell rings.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would transform my practice by blending advanced credentials with hands-on innovation. I’d first secure a Master’s in Educational, focusing on culturally responsive teaching to better serve my diverse students. The remaining funds would establish a "Legacy Lab" in my classroom—a space filled with adaptive technology and collaborative tools where students don’t just consume information but create it. This investment ensures my growth directly fuels their success.
