Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe learning should be joyful and meaningful. As a Montessori educator teaching PK 3, PK 4, and Kinder, I foster independence, curiosity, and hands-on discovery. I believe every child deserves a quality, free public education where they can laugh, explore, and enjoy learning. In my classroom we say, “We love to have fun, but we don’t play around!” I strive to create a classroom that balances joy with purpose, freedom with responsibility, and fun with focus.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Welcoming a student who was moved into my classroom after another class struggled to meet his needs. He had frequent tantrums, eloped, and refused to work. The transition wasn’t easy at first, but through consistent routines, clear structure, patience, and genuine love, he began to feel safe and supported. Watching him grow from struggling academically and behaviorally to becoming one of the highest-achieving, confident members of our classroom community reminds me why I love teaching.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Wooaahh!! $25,000 would be life changing for me. I would start by paying off the rest of my student loans. With the remaining money I would donate back to my school and use some toward my wedding scheduled for early 2027. To receive that money would truly change my financial security.
