Noah Blanton

I love teaching because I build real relationships, make learning hands-on, and watch students realize they’re capable of great things.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because of the teachers I had growing up. They pushed me, believed in me, and helped shape who I am. I wanted to be that steady, motivating person for other kids, especially the ones who need consistency, encouragement, and someone in their corner.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Teaching isn’t just academics. Some of my most memorable moments are seeing a student step up during a lab, mentoring kids through tough situations, and coaching them into confidence. I’ve also helped students grieve the loss of a classmate. And taking them to the Intracoastal Waterway for hands-on marine science is a memory I’ll never forget.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’d use it to level up hands-on science: build durable lab kits and field equipment (water quality, plankton sampling, weather/ocean data tools), fund local field trips so every student can participate, and create a student-led investigation program where kids collect real data and present solutions to local environmental issues. I’d also set aside a portion for classroom supplies and mini-grants so students can prototype ideas and learn by doing.
