Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to demystify mathematics and show students that it is a tool for logic, not just a series of formulas. After three years in the classroom, my goal remains the same: to build student confidence. I want to be the mentor who helps them navigate academic challenges and realize that with the right support, no subject is out of reach. My passion lies in preparing the next generation to think critically and solve problems with resilience.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience was helping a student transition from math anxiety to mathematical mastery. We spent weeks breaking down functions into manageable parts, and by the end of the year, they were leading peer study sessions. Seeing that shift from "I can’t" to "I can lead" reaffirmed why I chose this profession. It’s those breakthroughs—where a student realizes their own potential—that stay with me and drive my dedication to the classroom every day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use these funds to bring advanced technology into the classroom, specifically high-level graphing tools and interactive modeling software. These resources help students visualize abstract data in real-time, making complex math more tangible. Additionally, I would invest in further professional development and advanced certifications to ensure my students receive the highest quality of instruction and are fully prepared for the rigors of university-level mathematics.
