Teachers have played a transformative role in my life. During my childhood, school became my refuge- a place where I felt seen, supported, and capable of more than I imagined. When my confidence faltered, teachers offered the words and guidance that rejuvenated me. Like my mother, I began tutoring other students and fell in love with the spark of understanding that brightened their faces. That revealed my calling. I knew I wanted to teach, to uplift others just as my teachers had done for me.

Unlocking the power of literacy is a true pleasure for me. While teaching third grade, I had a student who was dismayed; reading only 15 words as school began. He asked me if I would teach him how to read and I told him that I absolutely would! I only needed him to try his best! He celebrated the LAST DAY of school reading a CHAPTER book (Flat Stanley) to his teachers. We were moved to tears. He now reads above grade level and continues to excel! I truly believe that teachers can change lives!

I would donate to autism awareness outreach in honor of people I love! I would help support my daughter who is in college for nursing and add to our savings. I intend to buy learning software & classroom materials for my students to grow as readers & leaders and buy a very cute and comfy teacher chair to treat myself!😁
