I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves someone who believes in them. I wanted to create a place where kids feel safe, encouraged, and excited to learn. Watching students grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and realize their potential is the most rewarding part of what I do. Being able to make a difference in their lives each day is why I chose teaching.

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was writing a grant for new playground equipment for our older students and actually getting it funded. The best moment was surprising the kids with the news. Seeing their excitement, smiles, and hearing their cheers made all the hard work worth it. Knowing I helped create something just for them was incredibly rewarding.

If I received $25,000, I would invest it into my family and the kids I serve through Ignite Youth Club. I would help strengthen our programs by adding educational supplies, wellness activities, and opportunities the kids might not otherwise experience. I’d also use some of it to create meaningful experiences with my family, because the support they give me is what allows me to pour so much into the youth in our community.
