Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education can change a child’s future. I wanted to inspire, encourage, and support students as they grow academically and personally. Seeing a child gain confidence and understand something new is incredibly rewarding. I strive to create a safe, positive classroom where students feel valued, capable, and excited to learn every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

At the beginning of the year, the student was hesitant to participate and often felt frustrated during reading time. I worked closely with them, practicing letter sounds, reading together, and celebrating every small improvement. Over time, I saw their confidence grow. One day, they proudly read a short passage aloud to the class. The smile on their face and the pride they felt reminded me why I became a teacher, those moments of growth and belief in themselves make teaching truly meaningful.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received the $25,000, I would invest it into my classroom by purchasing updated learning materials, books, and technology to support reading and math. I would also create engaging learning centers and hands-on activities that support different learning styles. The funding would help provide my students with meaningful learning experiences, enrichment opportunities, and the resources they need to build confidence and succeed academically.
