I became a teacher because I had so many amazing teachers growing up. They helped me not only learn academics but were a steady and encouraging presence in my life. I hope that every day I not only teach my students about reading and writing, but about being a good person and how to navigate this thing called life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was bringing a book fair with local authors to my high school. I partnered with a local bookstore and contacted local YA authors in my area. We had 8 authors the first year and 10 this year! Seeing my students excited about buying books and meeting some actual authors was amazing! I wish every day could be book fair day!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would finish paying off my student loans, then use the rest to go on a small vacation. I would also love to throw a party for my students, because without them, I wouldn’t be here.
