I became a teacher because my mother was a teacher in a special needs class and when I would visit her classroom, I felt connected to the children. I knew I wanted to work with students with needs because I feel I can make a difference in their lives.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI don’t have just one memorable teaching experience — I have many. Each small breakthrough, every moment a student gains confidence, learns to advocate for themselves, or smiles with pride becomes part of my story. In special education, the victories may seem small to others, but to us, they’re everything.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would definitely pay off some debts and then take my family on a much needed vacation.
