I love helping children with special needs learn and grow into the best versions of themselves. It’s truly an honor to be part of their journey. My passion began in high school, where I worked with autistic students and supported their social skills development. They even became lifetime friends!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was advocating for my nonspeaking students to receive AAC devices. I knew they had so much to say they just needed access. Seeing a student communicate independently for the first time was unforgettable. I’ll also never forget a mom telling me I was the best SLP her child ever had. As someone who often feels like I’m not doing enough, that meant everything and reminded me why this work matters.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to invest in myself both professionally and personally. I’d pay down student loans and purchase additional materials to better support my students at school. I would also take a meaningful vacation to travel and recharge. Working in a school setting is incredibly rewarding but demanding, and having the chance to reset would help me continue showing up fully for my students.
