Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because of those who came before me. My grandparents were educators who poured love, empathy, and a passion for learning into their students and into me. Their example shaped my heart for teaching. I hope to carry that legacy forward by creating a classroom where students feel seen, encouraged, and inspired to love learning and believe in their own potential.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

A few months ago, we learned about friendship, kindness, and worship. Recently, I began a lesson with worship, and without prompting, the students gathered together, hugging and swaying as one. It was a tender moment where they chose to be a classroom family, living out the lessons we had learned in a beautiful and meaningful way.

What would you do with the $25,000?

My car is on its last legs, and this support would help me make a down payment on reliable transportation. As I prepare to move out on my own, these funds would also help furnish a stable home. It would additionally allow me to give more generously to my church so they can continue serving and blessing our community.
