Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to help students understand how the universe works. Through science, I guide them from simple questions like “What is a chemical?” to deeper ones about life and consciousness. When students begin asking their own questions and seeing the connections in the world around them, they realize learning is about curiosity, not just answers.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most meaningful moments in teaching are when students trust me. Whether it is connecting science to their interests or when they come to me with personal struggles, those conversations remind me that teaching is more than content. Being someone students feel safe talking to and guiding them through challenges is what makes this work truly meaningful.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received the $25,000, it would first go toward paying down my wife’s nursing school loans. She works incredibly hard caring for others, and reducing that burden would mean a lot to our family. I would also invest in solar for our home to lower long-term energy costs and build a more sustainable future for my family.
