To offer future generations the opportunity to advance humanity forward. Teaching, mentoring, and inspiring young people that with great curiosity and disciplined effort, anything is possible. When kids ask “Why…?”, I say “Let’s find out!”. When kids ask “How…?”, I say “Let’s test it out!”. When kids hear “You can’t!”, I remind them “Maybe you can!”. That is why I teach.

My most memorable teaching experience happened when one of my students (kindergarten) had to leave the Country for a few months when his mother was deported after her visa expired. The family was scared and worried. My Principal and I wrote letters on their behalf, stayed in contact while they were away, and offered any assistance we could to help my student avoid learning loss. The system was failing this family, but we didn’t.

Honestly, probably pay off college debt from getting my master’s degree, then take my family on a trip abroad before my son starts college. If there is any money left, I might buy a little scooter for myself so my son can take my car with him to college.
