I became a teacher because I believe education is one of the most powerful ways to change a person’s life trajectory. Growing up, I saw how a single supportive teacher could build confidence, open doors, and make learning feel meaningful. I wanted to be that person for someone who not only delivers content, but also helps students realize their potential and feel seen, capable, and valued.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences involved a student who struggled both academically and with self-confidence. At the beginning of the year, they were disengaged and hesitant to participate. Over time, through consistent encouragement, differentiated instruction, and small achievable goals, I saw a transformation. The turning point came when the student volunteered to solve a problem in front of the class—something they had never done before. The pride on their face and the applause
