I became a teacher because education transformed my life. Growing up in a financially challenged family, I balanced part-time work while earning my Master’s in Applied Mathematics and B.Ed. This journey instilled resilience and a deep respect for learning. I am committed to giving back by helping students overcome obstacles, build confidence, and realize their full potential.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was working with a student who was struggling and often off-task in class. I spent extra time guiding him and encouraging him to stay focused. Slowly, he started completing his work and improving. Seeing that change in his attitude and confidence was very meaningful to me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would support my family and make my parents proud, honoring the sacrifices they made for my education. I would also invest in my students by providing resources, technology, and extra learning opportunities. Additionally, I would secure my children’s education and future, continuing the cycle of opportunity that education created in my life.
