I love teaching because every child deserves someone who believes in them and celebrates their growth, big or small.

I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. As a child, during any kind of play, I always wanted to play school and pretend to teach others. That passion stayed with me into adulthood. As a single mother of six and a first generation college student, I understand how life changing education can be. I became a teacher to help children believe in themselves and realize their potential.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable moments was watching a student who struggled with confidence begin to believe in themselves. With encouragement and patience, they slowly began raising their hand, participating, and smiling more in class. Seeing that transformation reminded me that teaching is not just about lessons. It is about helping children feel seen, valued, and capable of success.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won $25,000, I would use it to create opportunities for children and families who need them most. I would support resources for low income families, single mothers, and students in Title I schools so they have access to learning tools and enrichment opportunities. Every child deserves someone who believes in them. I want to continue being that person for as many children as possible.
