Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I saw the breakdown of social and emotional skills trickling over into adulthood. I wanted to be the catalyst of change for so many others. Plus I get unlimited free hugs.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One student that I had in the classroom, walked up to me in the store one day and told me that she finished high school and received her medical assistance certificate because I told her that she could. I cried like a baby!!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would take some to write two children’s books. I would take the rest and create a mobile poetry writing workshop bus for children of all ages, especially those battling with social and emotional skills the most.
